**Job Advert Summary**:
Reporting to the Executive Head: New Markets, the role will be responsible for defining, developing and implementing a business, member and revenue growth strategy for a new PPS subsidiary.
The role incumbent must have a strong entrepreneurial flair (this is a start-up business) and be able to operate in a small business environment. The role would require that one operates at both strategic and operational levels. The role will contribute towards the development and seamless deployment of the bespoke customer value proposition through the new and established distribution channels.
A proven track record running a business unit or having had executive responsibility for running a business is a must. The person must also have gravitas in financial services sector. The role requires someone with good people leadership skills and who will be able to build a leadership team from the start.
In terms of rewards, the role requires a willingness to sacrifice current fixed income in lieu of very healthy future returns.
The incumbent will need to be registered with the regulators, and as such, the relevant regulatory requirements for this role - such as fit and proper - must be met.
The incumbent will be responsible for achieving the business targets for member growth, retention, sales growth, profitability, managing key stakeholder relationships and driving a high-performance corporate culture in the business.
Ultimately, the role incumbent will be responsible to start the new subsidiary and see it to profitability.
**Minimum Requirements**:
- At least 15 years’ experience in managing business within financial services industry
- At least 5 years’ experience at a senior or leadership level
- Experience in forecasting sales revenues in line with business objectives is essential
- A proven track record in management and leadership people within financial sector
- Display acceptable levels of physical fitness relevant to the inherent job or role requirements
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Ability to start the new subsidiary and see it to profitability.
- Knowledge and awareness of relevant insurance industry related legislative and regulatory frameworks, including internal regulatory frameworks, policies and governance
- Ability to formulates objectives and priorities, and implements plans consistent with the long-term interests of the organisation
- Ability to develop day-to-day operational plans that are aligned with business division strategy and objectives
- Ability to coordinate, monitor and evaluate operational activities and processes to promote strategic alignment
- Ability to translate trends and correlations of development in various external factors into clear organisational implications; act as internal thought leader on product/service supply chain implications
