**Linguistics and Applied Language Studies**
**Main Objectives**
To provide an administrative and secretarial service for the department, which includes the staff of the department, the students of the department and other individuals requiring the services of the department.
**The Requirements**
Grade 12 plus approximately 4 years’ relevant experience where such experience includes:
- Previous secretarial and administrative experience within a computerized administrative environment.-
- Previous experience in setting up and maintaining filing and administrative systems.- Previous experience in working with budgets, reconciling budgets and monitoring expenditure is essential.- Experience on website administration will be an advantage.

Basic Pensionable Salary per annum: R251,544.00
Cost to Company per annum (Approximately): R350,516.00
Rhodes University has a vaccination mandate as part of its Conditions of Service. The implementation of the vaccine mandate has been held in abeyance from 01 January 2023. Should the COVID-19 situation change in a way that the number of cases of COVID-19 pose a threat to the University, the implementation of the Vaccine Mandate will be re-activated and all staff would be required to be fully vaccinated.
