Sales Manager Position

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Sales Manager to join our sales team and drive the achievement of revenue goals. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies and managing key client relationships.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist the DOSM in order to maximise revenues of the hotel by driving maximum contribution from MICE & Production segmentation through the various sources.
  • Source new business for the company whilst maintaining existing relationships with current clients to maximise hotel revenue/sales.
  • Promote and actively sell promotional activities at the Hotel to increase sales and customer retention.
  • Responsible for maximizing total hotel revenues (rooms, banquets and outlets).
  • Handle various segment accounts for the hotel and maximise revenue generation from these accounts through cold calling and relevant required face-to-face appointments per week.
  • Build relationships, network & maintain regular contacts with Production Houses, Groups Conferences and Incentives accounts by means of a minimum of 15 – 20 sales calls per week or as required by the company.
  • Be informed about the trends in hospitality, changing customer needs and behaviour, and developments in other industries.
  • Host clients for regular FAM Trips, Hotel Site Inspections and entertainment, ensuring maximum visibility in the market while educating the relevant market segments on the hotel and the hotels various capabilities.
  • Ensure all sales reporting is done on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Ensure the sales process is followed from start to finish, bringing in new leads, conversion of groups and bookings and then repeating the cycle.
  • Ensuring that all key information is passed onto the DOSM about the market, new supply in Cape Town and competitor trends and stats.
Desired Experience & Qualification
  • Minimum 5 years sales experience in the travel / tourism / hotel industry.
  • Proven track record within the Production & MICE Segmentation.
  • Solid Relationships within these segments.
  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Certificate or Diploma in Sales & Marketing or Hotel Management.
  • Valid Driver's Licence and vehicle for day to day travel / appointments.
  • 5 Years experience in a similar position.
Package & Remuneration
  • Market related package plus annual performance bonus.
