Senior Bid Manager

We are looking to hire a Bid Manager who will be responsible for managing bids, tenders and proposals (opportunities) to win new business.

The successful candidate will be working closely with the internal teams, you will be responsible for the orchestration and the creation of the response as the ‘Bid Project Manager’, ensuring compliance with customer, business, and governance requirements, highlighting the company value proposition and ensuring a quality submission.

The successful candidate must: 

  • Highly organised and detail orientated, with excellent time management skills - able to prioritise (constant awareness of deadlines) and manage urgency.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of public sector tender requirements
  • Calm under pressure, proactive and flexible to changing priorities have a clear understanding and proven use of strategic proposal management processes, including qualification, pre-proposal planning, strategy development and storyboarding as well as overall proposal project management.
  • Be non-compromising on quality and attention to details on all deliverables.
  • Possess advanced proposal writing skills and basic graphic design skills: the ability to turn 'raw information' into well-articulated proposal content.
  • Can cope with a substantial amount of responsibility and 
    pressure, have strong business orientation, analysis/problem 
    solving, negotiation and collaboration skills
  • Be diplomatic, able to build trust and work effectively with senior stakeholders
  • Strong collaborator/team player
    The role would suit a self-motivated, innovative, and creative 
    individual with the ability to generate new ideas and follow 
    through to completion.
     

Essential qualifications:

  • Matric certificate
  • APMP Foundation certification

Preferred qualifications:

  • Relevant business or similar degree or diploma

Experience Required:

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in a corporate environment
  • As least 7 years’ experience in bid management
  • Advanced skills in: Teams, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • ICT experience

Work environment:

  • Hybrid with option of 3 days in the office and 2 days from home

Physical demands:

  • Must be able to work under pressure.

Travel:

  • Own or reliable transport is essential
