Are you ready to take on the role of Project Manager with Hitachi Energy in Modderfontein, South Africa? As the key person in charge, you will be overseeing multiple projects across all stages. Your responsibilities will include leading project teams, defining project execution strategies, and ensuring successful project completion through effective planning, monitoring, and control.

Your responsibilities:

  • Drive project acceptance and contract close-out processes.
  • Act as the primary contact for customers and handle project escalations.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Ensure project compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Develop project plans, including scope, financials, schedule, and risk management.
  • Monitor project progress, resource utilization, financials, and invoicing.
  • Identify and manage project risks effectively.
  • Provide feedback and coaching to project staff.
  • Coordinate customer acceptance processes and address any complaints promptly.
  • Supervise shipment, transport, and installation of transformers.
  • Handle Contract Management duties.
  • Embody Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity.

Your background:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical/energy engineering and Project Management Qualification.
  • Over 5 years of experience in Project Management or Controlling within the transformer manufacturing industry.
  • Experience in project management within the energy sector and substations.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English, French knowledge is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Auto-CAD, Creo, 3D, MS Office, MS Project, and SAP.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and various contracts.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
