_ This is a hands on position and will suit a confident, decisive, organised and enthusiastic individual, excellent with VIP guests and who, when the accommodation is not full, is prepared to 'fill in' where needed in other departments of this beautiful property._

JOB PURPOSE
To support the Hospitality Operations Manager with regards to:

  • Management of the Homestead Staff and ensuring that the visitor accommodation experience is exemplary.
  • Supervision of the guest accommodation culinary experience, ensuring that all table service is correctly set up, that the front of house service presented is in line with the calibre of VIP guest visiting from time to time. The guests are VIP invited visitors to the property (not general public) and need to be dealt with accordingly to forge good relationships
  • Supervise the set up of various guest and visitor experiences for example interalia small conferencing set ups, dining experiences at the wine cellar, public relations / marketing niche events.
  • Assist with the facilitation of functions at the function venue including administration tasks, supervision of staff and the venue ensuring that the guest experience is exemplary

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • An intuitive understanding of what constitutes good hospitality
  • An ability to work unsupervised within a broad framework
  • Capacity to work in a high stress deadline orientated environment
  • Minimum 5 years working in the hospitality industry
  • Experience working in hotel housekeeping will be advantageous
  • An ability to liaise professionally with visitors / guests at all levels
