This leadership position requires a strategic mindset, exceptional organisational skills, and the ability to ensure the hospital's physical infrastructure supports optimal patient care and staff well-being.

The Executive Hospital Nursing Manager collaborates with various departments to maintain a safe, functional, and welcoming environment, contributing to the overall success of the healthcare institution.


The Executive Hospital Nursing Manager's main focus areas will be on overseeing nursing staff, patient care, and related nursing operations.

Strategic Nursing Leadership: Develop and execute nursing strategies that align with the hospital's goals, focusing on patient outcomes, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice.

Clinical Oversight: Monitor and evaluate nursing practices to ensure they adhere to established protocols, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards.

  • Manage change in integrated health care delivery systems, such as work restructuring, technological innovations, and shifts in the focus of care.

Staff Management: Lead, mentor, and develop nursing staff, including nurse supervisors, educators, and frontline nurses, promoting professional growth and job satisfaction.

Budget Management: Manage nursing department budgets, allocate resources effectively, and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising patient care.

  • Monthly variance reporting.

  • Manage overhead expenses according to budget.
  • Participate in business planning and budgeting processes and manage nursing costs according to budget.
  • Ensure timeous submission of all supplier invoices for payment.

Training and Development: Implement ongoing training programs to enhance nursing skills, maintain competency, and keep the nursing team updated on the latest medical advancements.
