Requirements:

  • BSc or BEng degree in Engineering / relevant BSc degree /BTech
degree

  • Registration with a professional body will serve as an advantage
  • A minimum of eight (8) years' relevant experience in the design of
decision support systems, data management and analysis at a

senior level in the Technical / Engineering field

  • Knowledge of bulk water supply and water resource management
decision support systems will be an advantage

  • Valid driver's licence.
Key Performance Areas

  • Identify, define and undertake short
- and long-term planning,

development and implementation associated
- with decision support systems and data management within the

existing Bulk Water Supply Operations as well as the New

Water Programme

  • Further develop, update and maintain a Bulk Water Decision
Support and Data Management System including the interpretation

and analysis of data to support and management and operations

of the bulk water supply system

  • Develop and maintain new and existing models and tools relating
to aspects such as water resource management, bulk water supply

network models, water quality management, dam safety, health

and safety, chemical usage and storage, capital and operating

budget tracking

  • Work closely with other water users and National / Provincial
Government Departments in issues relating to data management

and information sharing

  • Manage the formulation of specific contracts and tender
documents and control contractual obligations.
