The role of our People function is to build a purpose-led, high-performing and resilient organisation by identifying and nurturing talent, enhancing the employee experience and ensuring the motivation, productivity and wellbeing of our people.


We are seeking a Talent Enablement Lead for Africa Practice who will play a pivotal role in delivering our business plan and growth agenda by maintaining an enabling environment for our people to flourish, strengthening diversity, equity and inclusion and ensuring compliance.

This will include designing and updating people-related policies and processes, ensuring contractual and operational compliance with all relevant national level legislation and regulation and global best practice, ensuring a competitive and equitable remuneration framework, delivering a robust and transparent performance management framework and managing employee engagement.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Policies and process
  • Design new peoplerelated policies to support certification programmes (e.g. BCorp)
  • Deliver training to staff and ensure compliance with existing policies
  • Continually review peoplerelated processes to ensure they are fit for purpose and reflect evolving needs
  • Contractual and operational compliance
  • Work with legal counsel to ensure our employment and subcontractor contracts and peoplerelated processes are updated to reflect any changes to labour law
  • Competitive and equitable remuneration framework
  • Implement the findings of the salary benchmarking study and ensure annual salary reviews are fair and equitable across the business
  • Review individual remuneration within the context of the framework and make recommendations to ExCo and RemCo
  • Robust and transparent performance management framework
  • Ensure half year and annual appraisals are delivered effectively, with detailed guidance and training given to career stewards on performance assessment and KPI setting
  • Employee engagement and wellbeing
  • Ensure employee requests for information, clarification, support and guidance are promptly and effectively addressed both individually and via the People Resources Centre GChat group
  • Manage physical and virtual teambuilding activities across the group with support from the admin team
  • Support implementation of the action plan arising from the employee survey and act as the primary liaison with the Wellbeing Lab
  • Support the wellbeing of our people by checking in regularly and acting on feedback shared
  • Manage regular communications to the business around new joiners, leavers, promotions, training, internal vacancies and life milestones
