Position:
Channel Account Manager - Southern Africa


We are looking for a driven Channel Manager to ensure double digit revenue growth for AVEVA Software and deliver the best channel experience for our customers.

This position carries an individual sales target and requires a hands-on approach to driving sales through channel.


To be successful in this role one should have strong collaborative ways of working, be a strategic thinker with the ability to develop and end execute on the territory plan.

The Job

The Channel Manager role is focused primarily in driving indirect sales. This position will be quota carrying. You will be required to develop business/territory plan, present to senior management and execute the plan. Interpersonal skills, indirect sales and collaborative sales approach are critical to responding to daily channel-centric activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will make sure partners projections are accurate, leads are followed up, promotions and incentives are executed, and customers are satisfied.
  • Maintaining and growing partner competence through certifications and training
  • Identifying and resolving partner performance and participation issues before they impact vendor
  • You will be responsible for recruiting the right partners with specific expertise and market coverage required by the vendor's gotomarket strategy
  • Ensuring that partners know how to do business with the vendor, including proficient use of the vendor's tools
  • Build and maintain relationships with all key partner contacts.
  • Be a single point of contact for channel escalations and be the channel champion within AVEVA.
  • Regular customer visits together with the partner
  • Maintain and grow the partner network by recruiting and enabling existing and new partner, special solution partners, system integrators
  • Work with cross functional teams (internal and external) to ensure timely resolution of the partners escalations and issues involving many different internal teams.
  • Conduct regular cadence review with partner and AVEVA.
  • Assist partners in developing business plans.
  • When required or requested, channel manager go on customer site visits to solve the business issues
  • In this position you will be required to perform channel governance and build new territories
Ideal Experience

  • Related work experience, demonstrable knowledge, and experience in managing channel and sales
  • Industrial Automation domain knowledge
  • Knowledge of the Wonderware brand software (specifically System Platform, MES, Historian, InTouch).
  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies.
  • Knowledge of AVEVA Engineering and Asset Management solution
  • Valid Passport is required.
  • Good English communication and presentation skills
  • A Team player
  • Expert listening skills and be able to probe with leading questions to gather relevant information.
  • Strong social and organizational skills, and ability to develop network for crossfunctional working.
  • Understanding of Support processes and tools: Case Management, Hot Fix, Knowledge Management.
