Reporting to the Managing Director you will be responsible for managing Procurement, Estimating and Planning departments. This is an EXCO appointment where you will be actively involved within the entire business from a commercial aspect.

This is not a "bean counter" role but a role for an experienced individual who is highly aware of commercial business and understands full-scale business principles within the manufacturing sector.


The role will entail strategic input and negotiating the best raw material prices to win new business, retain and grow existing business and ultimately achieve profit objectives.

You will be further responsible to assess and manage working capital, and negotiating and monitoring SLAs and stock-holding agreements with key customers and suppliers.


Essential Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

  • A relevant Bachelor's Degree is required ideally a CIMA
  • A minimum of 45 years experience in commercial management, financial analysis and business processes, reporting and documenting.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in delivering timeous and accurate management information in a challenging and dynamic commercial environment.
  • Good broad understanding of business processes and controls
  • Good appreciation of IT Systems and implementation skills
  • Have the ability to take a toptobottom view but also have a handson approach.
  • A very computerized financial and analytical individual
  • Highlevel business acumen, familiar with financial IT and software/computer platforms,
  • Project Management
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, leadership and business skills
  • Familiarity with database concepts, data structures, and the use of advanced reporting tools.
  • Creative problemsolving skills, work well with mínimal supervision, detailoriented, highly organized and dependable.
  • Skill in analyzing and reengineering operations and procedures, formulating policy and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
  • Ability to interact at a Director and very senior management level
  • Highlevel relationship building is a critical component
  • Highlevel of computer literacy is compulsory
  • Ability to develop SLAs
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills
