About the Role:
The Commercial Vehicle Service Manager will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and profitable operation of the Service Department. This includes meeting the objectives that cover the Service Department's operating policies and standards to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction, retention, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Resource Management: Ability to control resources at a level commensurate with profit requirements and enhanced customer relations.
- Profit Maximization: Ability to maximize departmental profitability through the sale of labor and associated products to franchise and non-franchise customers.
- People Management: Supervision of staff, management of performance, discipline, and other staff management-related functions.
- Financial Management: Ability to ensure Service Department achieves budget objectives through weekly and monthly monitoring and control of accounts, operating controls, and composite figures.
- Operational Efficiency: Ability to ensure efficient operation of the Service Department through labor utilization, productivity, and sales. Ability to ensure excellence in customer service.
- Expense Control: Ability to maintain effective control of expenses through monthly examination of management accounts to ensure expenditure for the Service Department is in line with budgeted labor sales.
- Technical Expertise: Service, maintain, diagnose, problem solve, and attend breakdowns on commercial vehicles.
- Administrative Tasks: Ensure necessary paperwork is completed timeously.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: Matric
- Technical Qualifications: Qualified Diesel technician
- Experience: At least 3 years management experience in a franchised commercial vehicle environment
- Skills: Exceptionally good technical knowledge of commercial vehicles and management experience. Fully computer literate
