Job Advert Summary:

Rand Water is currently looking for a Management Support and Administration Manager at their Head Offices in Glenvista, Johannesburg South to provide professional and management support services to the Integration, Monitoring and Evaluation (IME)

Unit, including the following:

Budget Process Co-ordination and ongoing management reporting; Business Plan co-ordination; Performance Management within the IME Unit; Management of compliance issues; Productivity and Efficiency issue identification; Secretariat and administration services for the Monitoring and Evaluation Unit in BWS.


Minimum Requirements:

  • At least a 3year qualification (NQF 7) in Business Management or Business Administration.
  • A formal qualification in public and development sector monitoring and evaluation would be advantageous.
  • 4 years proven business management or business administration experience
  • Good knowledge of the national and international water sector
  • Good knowledge on the policies and strategy issues related to the provision of bulk water services
  • Experience in working with the National Water Department and LocaI Government.
  • Good computer skills

Primary Duties:

  • Provide and support management with business plan process
  • Coordinate input and produce overall plan for approval
  • Coordinate and facilitate detailed budget preparation
  • Monitor budget and investigate variances
  • Report on variances and recommend actions to resolve
  • Monthly reporting of budget against actuals
  • Prepare monthly management accounts
  • Prepare variance reporting statements
  • Provide project financing and progress reports
  • Manage and coordinate the portfolio of evidence for effective performance management of the IME Unit
  • Prepare performance reports for the IME Unit, as required by the Office of the COO
  • Coordinate with the office of the COO to resolve any audit and compliance issues on behalf of the IME Unit
  • Identify opportunities and prepare proposals for approval
  • Implement agreed projects
  • Support IME staff in meeting agreed requirements
  • Provide secretariat, general and technical administration services to meet the needs associated with the integration, monitoring and evaluation function in BWS

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge in business and administrative management.
  • Good knowledge of techniques for planning, executing, monitoring and controlling programs.
  • A strong grasp of compliance issues and the policy environment.

Skills:

  • The ability to produce good quality reports timeously.
  • The ability to clearly articulate and communicate key messages about the work and performance of BWS on a high level.
  • Good Interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent coordination and facilitation skills, to work effectively in a multi
- disciplinary sector and with various stakeholders.

Attitude:

  • Sound business management knowledge.
  • To be able to provide business, technical and financial acumen to any project/programme or business process
