RESPONSIBILITIES:


The purpose of this role is to establish and promote a quality service culture within the department by facilitating and advancing stakeholder relationship management and governance processes
.



MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Relevant four (4) year / Honours degree;
  • Six (6) years of work experience (which includes 2 years' experience in management) in a Facilities Management or relevant environment;
  • Driver's license.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):

  • UP Policies & Procedures;
  • Contract law ;
  • Labour Law (Specifically in matters related to Performance Management / Disciplinary Actions etc.);
  • Integrated enterprise resource management systems;
  • Operational functions in PeopleSoft or equivalent;
  • Analytical ability;
  • Computer literacy;
  • Concept writing and finalisation of technical reports;
  • Ability to explore alternatives and positions to reach outcomes that gain the support and acceptance of all parties;
  • Ability to convey information clearly and concisely to groups or individuals either verbally or in writing to ensure that they understand the information and the message;
  • Confidentiality;
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with others in order to encourage and support communication and teamwork;
  • Ability to Identify problems, determine possible solutions, and actively work to resolve the issues;
  • Ability to administer and ensure compliance with human resources policies and procedures.

ADDED ADVANTAGES AND PREFERENCES:

  • Formal qualification in Labour
- or Contract Law;

  • Two (2) years' experience in higher education and facilities management environment.
The annual remuneration package will be commensurate with the incumbent's level of appointment, as determined by UP policy guidelines. UP subscribes to the BESTMED and UMVUZO medical aid schemes and contributes 50% of the applicable monthly premium.
