Bookkeeper

Qualifications and Skills:
- Accounting diploma or degree is advantageous.
- Minimum of 3 years proven experience as a Bookkeeper/Accountant.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent numerical and data entry skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Record Keeping & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and uptodate financial records using accounting software such as Sage One Accounting.
- Ensure all transactions are properly classified and posted to the correct accounts.
- Reconciliation of bank, debtors, and supplier accounts.
- Perform regular reconciliations of other accounts such as credit cards, loans, and petty cash.
- Preparation of monthly management accounts.
- Drafting of financial statements (added advantage).
Taxation
- Filing of tax submissions (VAT201, EMP201, EMP501).
- Preparations of VAT recons.
- Responding to SARS queries on the submission of the above taxes).
Other duties and functions
- Budget preparation & monitoring.
- Adhoc duties (as per clients request which are in line with business and financial management).
- Complete a tender document.
