Gibela Rail invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of a PME Manager. The successful candidate will be based in Dunnottar, Nigel. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Manufacturing Motors.

 

Job Purpose:

Manage the team of Process Engineers and Manufacturing Engineers or Technicians within the Motors Department. Support industrialization of new products. Organise and bring technical support to manufacturing.

 

Stakeholders:

Internal: Industrial Team, Manufacturing team, EHS team, Human Resources, Quality team, IT team.

External: SETA (TETA), SEIFSA, Training providers, TVETS, UoT, PRASA, DoL, NAMB, QCTO, Alstom Transport.

 

Requirements:

  • Industrial / Mechanical Engineering Degree / BTech or Engineering Related Preferably.
  • Manufacturing or Manufacturing Engineering background with 6 to 10 years’ experience.
  • Technical experience of Process Engineering, writing manufacturing work instructions, line balancing, Lean Manufacturing.
  • Experience in working with an ERP (such as SAP) for Bill of Materials, Routings, Configuration follow-up.
  • Working knowledge in Quality, EHS standards and Ergonomics.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Define and update the function procedures, way of working and methodologies.
  • Ensure the staffing of the team according to the projects firm and forecasted workload.
  • Build induction and training program for the new comers.
  • Maintain the skills matrix of the team and build the annual training plan.
  • Deploy industrialization standards: Method Time, EHS, Work Instructions.
  • Deploy industrialization methodologies:  P-FMEA, Control Plan, QRQC, Task Sequencing.
  • Deploy WI tools for industrialization:(GSI), MES.
  • Increase maturity of the team using APSYS roadmap.
  • Support product / project industrialization.
  • Follow the progress of industrial deliverables.
  • Support the team while performing industrialization activities (ex.: P-FMEA, internal FAR/FMR/SMR…) 
  • Ensure Method Times are well calculated.
  • Ensure the Master data is accurate • Ensure Special Process are well managed within Industrialization activities Interface and have local industrialization validated by Donor.
  • Receive and support the transfer of knowledge from Donor.

 

 Profile:

            Must be able to communicate effectively at different levels with the organization

  • Must display high levels of integrity, ethics, and morals.
  • Must be extremely disciplined with time management.
  • Must have a high regard for customer/ supplier relationships.
  • Must be flexible to work outside of normal operational boundaries to support team targets.
  • Must display strong business acumen, particularly to cost consciousness and efficiency improvements. 
  • Must have conceptual thinking skills and analytical skills.

 

Support Production: 

 

  • Identify the needs of specific Method support.
  • Offer input during first articles manufacturing. 
  • Organise and manage productivity activities.
