Fox Transport, a leading staff transport provider in Cape Town, is seeking a skilled and dependable Fleet Mechanic with 5–7 years of hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance and repair. The successful candidate will ensure our extensive fleet operates safely, efficiently, and in peak condition at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine servicing, diagnostics, and mechanical repairs on a range of vehicles, including Toyota Quantums, 7-seaters, and sedans.
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to ensure road worthiness and compliance with safety standards.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues efficiently.
- Collaborate with the operations team to schedule and prioritize maintenance and minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of services, repairs, and parts inventory.
- Ensure the workshop environment is safe, clean, and compliant with OHS standards.
- Occasionally assist with breakdowns during operating hours if required.
Requirements:
- 5–7 years of proven mechanical experience.
- Strong knowledge of petrol and diesel engines, diagnostics, and electrical systems.
- Valid driver's license (Code 8/10).
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Advantageous:
- Experience working with Toyota, Suzuki and Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
- Background in staff transport or fleet maintenance operations.
- Familiarity with preventative maintenance systems and workshop management processes.
