Communications Manager

**JOB PURPOSE**:
The incumbent is required to provide Communications support in a way that improves Sea Harvest’s (the Company) reputation. The role requires an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills who can assist with the management of all activities required in line with the Group Corporate Affairs strategy, including external and internal communications and corporate branding.
**KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS**:
**Stakeholder Management**:
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders in a way that protects the reputation of the business.
- Engage and build effective relationships with internal stakeholders across all divisions to enable Communications to provide the business with the required support.
- Understand the Communication requirements of the business in order to provide team members with necessary feedback or a written brief, if need be.
- Support project teams through ongoing engagement and development of communication to contribute towards the achievement of project objectives.
**Content Management and Development**:
- Develop extensive knowledge about the business and its stakeholders in order to guide content planning that supports the strategic communications objectives.
- Develop and maintain an approved Content Schedule that provides a record of all communications published by the business.
- Develop engaging content relevant to stakeholders’ needs and interests.
***Channel Management**:
- Ensure that all channels are updated.
- Publish content in a timely manner, as per required deadlines.
- Ensure that electronic media (DC Media) is in good working order.
- Ensure the availability of an updated database with employee contact details to facilitate communication via SMS to all the Group’s employees.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to obtain feedback about the efficacy of channels.
**Digital Communication**:
- Ensure availability of good quality photographs and/ or videos for company events and employees to enhance planned and future communication.
- Ensure that written permission is obtained from all people who can be identified in photos and video footage captured and that the permission slips are filed in a systematic manner.
**PR & Media Management**:
- Assist with any corporate activity aimed at building/ maintaining Sea Harvest’s reputation amongst its external stakeholders. This includes assisting with media engagement, as well as media monitoring and reporting.
**Website Management**:
- Assist with managing the Sea Harvest Group’s corporate website.
***Events**:
- Plan and coordinate internal, as well as external events.
**Other**:
- Perform other duties not outlined above, as requested by management, which is commensurate with the level of the post.
***Generic**:
- Meet required quality standards and deadlines.
- Comply with required approvals processes.
- Attend training when necessary.
- Assist with administrative tasks.
**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES**:
- PR/Journalism/Communication qualification.
- Minimum of five to seven years’ prior experience in a similar position within a corporate environment.
- Exceptional writing skills and the ability to compose engaging and accurate content.
- A strong communicator who works well independently and within a team.
- Superior time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of MS Office and Adobe creative platforms.
- Ability to produce creative, visually appealing video content.
- Experience working with DC Media would be a distinct advantage.
- Ability to think strategically and identify ways to improve communication efforts.
- Resourceful, innovative and the ability to take initiative.
- Strong people management skills.
- Code 08 Drivers license essential.
