Site Manager

Site Manager duties include but not limited to:
**Ordering of site materials**
- Attend pre-site visit with Project Manager/HOD Installations, to plan position of installation and materials required.
- Conduct site risk-assessment
- Arrange large equipment material to be delivered to site
- Identify if specialised equipment (i.e.: scaffolding, forklift etc) is required and arrange with store manager / Safety Manager
**Cape Town**:
- For site deliveries, provide delivery note to creditors department
**Satellite Offices**
- Receive material on site
- Send photo of delivery note to creditors department immediately
- Book excess material back to store manager after Installation complete with correct job number.
- Store excess material in safe place (Satellite offices only) Manage and oversee site installations
**Manage installation from start to finish, including**:
- Meet with Project Managers and HOD Installations to review project specifications; and plans in order to deliver quality installation
- quality of work,
- productivity of staff,
- Site and staff safety
- site neatness
**Plans daily activities of the on-site installation team, by**
- Checking and recording daily clock in and clock out stats (Timesheets)
- Maintaining daily staff attendance register (H&S)
- Ensuring all staff adhere to good code of conduct and discipline on-site
- Providing weekly feedback on above to HOD Installations
**Manage and maintain client interactions by**:
- Providing accurate progress feedback
- Attending site meetings
- Escalating deviations to Project Manager and HOD Installations
**Once on site, should deviations occur due to client requirements or client variable order (VO)**:
- Obtain new quote from the Project Manager (large scale changes)
- Create a job card (small changes)
**Guide on-site technical issue root cause analysis and escalation process, by**:
- Dealing speedily and effectively with any build and electrical problems.
- Assisting with complex builds and wiring
- Supervising and operating a variety of site equipment as required.
- Being available for call-out after hours as required
**Monitor inventory of tools/equipment to ensure they are in good working order each day and available for use.**
- Arrange for the maintenance and repair of tools/ equipment as needed. Conduct Installation Commissioning
**Conduct Installation Commissioning**
- Accountable for commissioning/ site acceptance testing (SAT)
- Ensure all installation testing is conducted accurately
- Ensure all standard Quality Check (QC) documentation is accurately completed before sign-off
**Productivity and Activity Management**
- Set/communicate and implement productivity, activity and quality measurements/monitoring processes and controls to be adhered to by staff
- Manage and record staff time records (starting and ending), providing feedback to HOD Installations weekly
- Maintain and track staff attendance register, providing feedback to HOD Installations weekly
- Manage and address poor discipline records, providing feedback to HOD Installations weekly
- Ensuring all staff adhere to good code of conduct on-site
- Track activity/productivity and quality to ensure that effectiveness and efficiency is maintained
- Feedback to staff and undertake correction where required
- Resolve operational/process/people conflicts and problems that may arise quickly and effectively
**Performance management**
- Ensure that all work activities are understood and formally contracted
- Undertake/document regular performance review sessions as well as annualised Performance Appraisal discussions with all staff
- Deal consequently/timely with poor performance and/or discipline according to the prescribed performance management processes. Understand and follow the correct Industrial Relations processes if required
- Create and monitor a high performance culture of delivery, accountability and a sense of urgency.
- Understand and manage/action the staff promotion process in conjunction with HR.
- Undertake to assist the HR Manager in terms of leave and staff file/systems updates
- Develops a high performing team. Provide sufficient knowledge, skills, training and information to achieve peak performance, continuous improvement, and a positive, productive work environment consistent with company goals and objectives
**Manage Site Health and Safety according to regulations**
- Work with SHE officer to ensure site compliance in the following areas:
- Develop and deliver work methods and standards that will ensure health and safety legislation is complied with.
- Ensure that all staff are aware of safety procedures and embed a strong health and safety culture - seeking to develop a positive attitude to health and safety among staff.
- Ensure that all site equipment is kept in good working condition; this includes the regular maintenance and servicing of equipment
