Senior Draughtsman

**Aluvent Windows / Doors & Façade Specialist - SNR Draughtsman Vacancy**

Aluvent is a well-established company in the Glass & Aluminium industry, who is looking to hire an enthusiastic Senior Designer & Draughtsperson with any working experience of Curtain walling, Windows & Doors.

You will work successfully as part of a team and autonomously, demonstrating strong communication skills.

To be successful in this position, you need proven experience in designing & specifying windows, doors & curtain wall systems & have excellent skills using AutoCAD.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Using CAD software, such as AutoCAD & SolidWorks, to prepare technical drawings.
- Liaising with the glazing estimator, drawing office, sales & designers to ensure co-ordination and integration of the various elements of the building and adherence to client requirements.
- Produce detailed AutoCAD drawings of Aluminium Windows, Doors, Curtain walling, Louvres, Sunscreens, Steel doors, Steel fire rated Screens & other products to meet approval of architects, clients and main contractors.
- Work with engineers & other professionals to produce drawings that meet their specifications.
- Produce procurement lists, cutting lists & installation details suitable for workshop & construction site.
- Be cost conscious in relation to the contract works, estimate programme and selection of the correct product, method of manufacture & installation.
- Writing related technical documents, such as, material lists and cost estimates.
- Ensure that all drawings are accurate and meet industry standards.
- Maintain a library of standard drawing templates.
- Following specifications and calculations to create various technical drawings.
- Preparing both rough sketches & detailed work with CAD systems.
- Performing calculations for materials and weight limitations.
- Communicating with architects & engineers, & incorporating knowledge gained into drawings.
- Preparing, reviewing & redrafting alongside the engineering team.
- Ensuring final designs are compliant with building regulations.
- Identifying & communicating potential design problems to the rest of the team.
- Working in accordance with company values.

**Requirements**:

- Attend regular development meetings.
- Use software to create detailed 2D or 3D designs for complex projects.
- Collaborate with others to establish timelines & budgets, as well as solve problems.
- Knowledge of the industry, engineering, mathematics and materials.

- Experience in computer-aided design and drafting technology.
- Ability to draw manually favourable, but not essential.
- Be able to support our sales efforts technically through design & costing support and guidance, they must also be there to ensure we order correctly and get involved in higher level draughting & also sign off.
- Window/Door & facade technical experience is a necessity
