**JOB TITLE**: SENIOR PRODUCT SALES SUPPORT MANAGER: REPAIRS - SOUTH AFRICA
The Repairs Product Group is responsible for the Repairs business in Metso. Metso operates a network of Service Centres that are capable of performing repairs and refurbishments on Metso equipment as well as 3rd party equipment. All our repair and service activities are designed to maximize the productivity, safety and reliability of our customers’ equipment.
Our Service Centres offer a full range of services to precisely inspect, repair, and return equipment to service. We serve customers in the mining and aggregates industries as well as other industrial markets around the world. One of the key roles of the Repairs Product Group is to drive profitable products/offerings and provide technical support to the market areas in executing repair cases.
In this position, you will report to Director, Product Management & Sales Support, Repairs.
This position is mainly located in South Africa, preferred location - Alrode or Centurion.
TEAM YOU BELONG TO
You will join the Repairs Team and work closely with internal and external stakeholders, such as Site Account Managers, Sales Commercial Support Product Management, Product Engineering, Commercial Support, Suppliers and Sub-Contractors, Clients and Site Staff
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Responsible for providing product sales support, within defined geographical region, with a focus on Repairs product
Responsible for promoting and driving Repair service exchange offerings, alongside Market Area sales
Responsible for supporting complex or tailored service exchange sales cases, which may include additional professional services elements
Responsible for promoting and supporting productized repairs by presenting offerings to customers and/or Market Area sales teams
Responsible for driving Repair pricing excellence through Market Area service centres
Responsible for supporting Repairs product launches
Responsible for supporting product/sales campaigns and growth programs.
Acts as the intermediary for Market Area Sales and Professional Services product management
Responsible for the value argumentation, value proposition and win plan for cases and overall, for the PSE/Repairs portfolio
Ensures timely progress of the sales case from lead to proposal and negotiations; Ensures profitability of the sales cases and the business segment
Understands the market, competition and the industry best practices for labour related services and ensures that sales cases are built accordingly
Coaches and trains Market Area sales, Technical Sales Support and PSE/Repair proposal teams in offering and ways to sell
WHO YOU ARE
Matric (Grade 12)
Degree in Engineering, or related discipline preferred
Minimum 5-7 years in a sales related role, preferably related to Mining or Aggregates industries or in a field service or repair centre environment
Minimum 5-7 years in a technical support related role
Customer-oriented mindset with an understanding of customer needs & typical maintenance practices
Prior experience presenting to customers and maintaining customer relationships
Commercial & financial acumen, “deal engineering” skills, ability to craft compelling value propositions
Strong written and oral communication skills
Planning and coordination skills and the ability to effectively work with multiple stakeholders across different time zone
Previous experience selling labour services preferred
Ability to read and comprehend technical specifications and engineering drawings preferred
Degree in engineering, or related discipline preferred
WHAT SKILLS, COMPETENCIES AND REQUIREMENTS (HARD AND SOFT) ARE ESSENTIAL FOR THIS ROLE?
Ability to understand and implement business line strategy including pricing, margin levels, profitability, and utilization
Strong sense of business ownership demonstrated through effective communication and leadership
Must have good knowledge of the broad range of Metso equipment such as crushers, grinding mills, pyro equipment, bulk handling equipment, screens, process equipment, pumps, filters, flotation equipment, thickeners, couriers, automation, etc.
Solid knowledge base in services and aftermarket business, the mining and construction industry and its customers
Must be able to read and understand basic prints/drawings to ensure accuracy of work performed
Strong decision-making ability while negotiating commercial and technical items with customers and suppliers, both to win new work and to resolve disagreements.
