Product Manager

**ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The role of Photo Video - Product Manager is a specialist position at senior level. The role calls for someone with exceptional analytical and numerical skills in the category/product planning and financial analysis space. The hiring company is a leading photographic and video equipment manufacturer, with a global brand presence. Reporting to the Sales and Marketing Director, performance areas include, but are not limited to:
Market Analysis
- Together with sales managers, local partners, and external market research companies (when appropriate), _analyse market situations per country on issues such as Market Size, Competition Activities, Market Pricing and general market developments and dynamics._
- Draw up action plans for country support and regional channel/sales activity, in line with budget guidelines agreed with Marketing Manager, to achieve sales budget.
- Monitor the company MaSh (Market Share in the individual Countries and prepare Market Intelligence and Competitor Analysis on a periodic basis).

Pricing / Product positioning
- Decide _product pricing and positioning_ based on competitive landscape.
- Creating and managing monthly pricelists.
- Conduct support negotiation with DRBG to achieve required pricing.
- Support the Sales team for Tender pricing, Key accounts, and Special deals. Also, responsible for Tender Pipeline management in co-ordination with Area sales.

Product Launch and Promotion
- Work with P_hoto Video team to help co-ordinate the planning and schedule of new product launches_ together with internal staff to support the timely and successful launch of new products into relevant market.
- _Manage the Product Life Cycle_ for the products from Launch to End of Life through required strategy, promotions, and schemes.
- Drive Strategic Product / Targets in line with the management direction.

Product Training and Development
- Attend training courses on nominated products.

Forecasting
- _Monitor and review monthly sales performance_ for assigned product group to ensure smooth sales movements in line with the agreed sales plan and take appropriate remedial action.
- Submit forecasts to HO as per requirement.

Sales Budget preparation and Implementation
- Agree and fix the Sales budget with Sales, discuss, and agree annual targets and termly sales plans.
- Discuss and advise Sales Team about proper product strategy to realise stronger business structures and market coverage.

GP (Gross Profit) Management
- Monitor and control of GP through tracking of special promotion pricing and tender deals at the point of:

- Agreeing special pricing with the sales group
- Follow up at actual delivery period for tracking of incoming (from Europe) and outgoing (to customer) support.

Co-ordination with DRBG
- Ensure smooth and continuous communication with DRBG for all activities related to Budget preparation, Support discussions, Product launches, Monthly performance management, other reports and submissions in line with requirements.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**:

- Matric essential.
- Computer literate - Proficient in MS Office Applications, i.e., Word, Excel and PowerPoint are essential. **Excel at Advanced level is essential.**:

- Fluent in English - essential requirement.
- Open to SA citizens with a clear criminal and credit history.
- Valid unendorsed Driver’s License is essential, with own vehicle (preferred).
- High level of relevant PV knowledge and experience.
- At least 5 years’ experience within the Photo Video industry is preferred.
