Manage Operational Staff:
Motivate and create a positive atmosphere for the staff to work and develop within. - Ensure that staff adhere to the operational guidelines at all times. - Ensure that work loads are distributed evenly amongst staff. - Assist staff with issues where they might not have the necessary know how to provide the correct level of service (operational excellence). - Ensure transfer of knowledge and skills to staff. - Ensure that staff follows operational processes at all times

Financial Control:
Have an understanding of which debtors currently have overdue amounts and work with Financial Manager in recovering funds by resolving queries and providing feedback to the client. - Ensure that creditors invoices relating to the department are captured by as per the requirements and queries (where applicable) are addressed. - All Shipments are managed in real time - Ensure that invoicing is up to date at any given time with special attention to CBO clients. - Manage and review processes to make sure that there are no loss files and processes are improved. - Ensure files structures are correct. - On time billing - Strong pod management

Review and maintain operational processes:
Continuously review operational processes to make sure that they allow efficiencies and profitability throughout the division. - Continuously manage and review transport management system to ensure controllers are entering data timeously and accurately. - Manage the role out of the transport management system throughout the region

Manage Key Accounts:
When necessary, take ownership of key house accounts and operate shipment files

Assist clients with any queries related to operations and documentary requirements needed to successfully facility the transport process

Manage Suppliers and Buying Conditions:
Together with Business unit managers, nominate and negotiate rates with suppliers to make sure that the buying conditions are in line with the current market conditions. - Ensure that controllers use the correct service providers and rates charges are in line with agreement, and that all hauliers are vetted as per transports vetting policy. - Manage the performance levels and risks of nominated service providers

Rate Proposals:
Ensure that all rate proposals are up to date and in the correct format

Quality Control:
Quality checks must be performed randomly on operations files ensuring that all the relevant documents are kept on file - Continuously look for improvements throughout the business

Status Reports:
Ensure that controllers keep clients up to date on the progress of their shipments by sending them regular status reports. - Ensure daily dashboards are accurate and timeous

Customer Services;
Ensure the highest levels of customer service at all times and attend to client’s queries.

**Inherent Requirements**

Grade 12

Degree/Diploma: Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management or relevant degree

Experience:
Minimum 4-5 years’ experience working in the freight / logistics industry.

A good working knowledge of Road and Export procedures.

Strong understanding of the SADC regions and the transport operations thereof (particularly DRC) Strong DRC Haulier Base

Skills:
High level of computer literacy in MS Office Suite
