Senior Business Development Consultant

**Key Responsibilities**:
- New Business_
- Responsible for sourcing and securing new clients
- Ability to prospect effectively in order to secure appointments with qualified leads
- Make cold and warm calls and maintain a prospect database
- Manage pipeline to ensure conversion rate is applied and revenue generated to reach targets
- Plan & execute approaches & pitches to clients by developing client specific pitch presentations
- Handle & overcome client objections
- Master and understand market trends and seasonality in the market.
- Meet and exceed targets set in terms of contributing and generating revenue for the department
- Convert new relationships into repeat business.
- Negotiate with the clients and prospective clients as per price guidelines given, looking to maximize profits.
- Be able to execute negotiations through prospecting, cold calling, quantifying and closing deals.
- Ability to converse with all levels of a client (Strategic, Tactical & Operational)
- Follow up on customer communications in a timely and professional manner.
- Handle any client problems as required
- You will develop and lead both short
- and long-term strategies
- Promote the services and products
- Define and coordinate appropriate campaigns with Marketing
- Review and understand competitor landscape and customer needs
- Attend Expo, Seminars as required as a representative of the company
- Relationship Management_
- Implement new clients successfully, adhering to all requirements throughout the implementation until handed over to support teams
- Look after key relationships - Platinum Clients
- Establishing, maintaining, and developing relationships with client decision makers to identifying opportunities for cross and up-selling
- Attending and arranging Strategic Client meetings to ensure business continuity
- Maintain portfolio of existing client relationships with a view to ensuring optimal service, support, and client retention in collaboration with support departments.
- Respond to queries and requests for information in a timely manner
- Expedite the resolution of client problems and complaints to maximize client satisfaction.
- Understanding and analyzing environmental, industry forces and trends with a view to propose feasible solutions to clients to achieve business target
- Establishing long term partnerships with clients that will result in future strategic transactions
- Identifying and reporting trends and risks
- Providing innovative recommendations to retain and grow client base
- Reporting and Administrative_
- Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
- Record and report on customer details / sales visits
- Provide sales forecasts
- Ensure weekly /monthly reports are up to date and submitted on time as required by business.
- Ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to
- Conduct regular performance reviews
- Ensure optimal EFT processes
**Requirements**:
- Postgraduate business degree will be advantageous
- Certifications relating to the payroll industry will be advantageous
- 5 years+ experience or more in payroll administration or implementation related roles
- 3 years+ experience in selling payroll solutions and services to small-medium and large corporates.
- A proven track record in meeting targets.
- A proven track record in deals acquired.
- Payroll/HR technical and functional knowledge
- Knowledge of competitor product suites
- Sales CRM system
- Miller Heiman sales methodology
- Proficient with sales pipeline management, forecasting and reporting
- Positive, energetic, enthusiastic, innovative and solutions orientated.
- Target and goal driven personality.
- Self-driven and action orientated.
- Articulate and able to communicate well with all stakeholders.
- Strong presentation skills and experienced in presenting to and engaging at C-Suite levels at client organisations
- Must have strong presentation skills and be experienced in presenting to and engaging at all levels within a client organisation (Users, Middle Management, and Executive Management levels).
- Must be an experienced hunter with a proven ability to canvas for new business “cold calling”.
- Must be a go-getter, target-driven, self-starter requiring mínimal supervision.
- Must be articulate and able to communicate well with all stakeholders
- Must possess well-developed negotiation skills
- Must be willing to learn, develop, acquire additional knowledge and skills to sell a portfolio of solutions offered by Transaction Capital Transactional Solutions
- Must possess well-developed report and proposal writing skills
- Must be presentable and always project a professional image
**Salary**: R950 000 - R1 200 000 p/a
