Tasting Room Manager

A prestigious wine estate is looking for a dynamic & wine passionate **Tasting Room Manager** to join its team. The main purpose of the role is the effective management of the tasting room as well as promoting wine sales.
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Take charge of the day-to-day operations of our Tasting Room which includes but not limited to tastings, wine sales, cash ups, managing the tasting room staff, managing inventory.
- Stock take, invoicing and ensuring accuracy in capturing sales
- Logistics and preparation of all wine orders
- Manage, train and develop team members on an ongoing basis
- Conduct staff meetings
- Making staffing decisions and do the monthly rosters
- Daily cash up at the end of the shifts and other opening/closing duties
- Sending hours and wine sale targets to HR every fortnight for wages
- Meeting pre-determined sales goals and revenue targets
- Inventory management of wine, retail merchandise and tasting room supplies
- Where possible. partner with wine educators and winemakers to ensure the Tasting Room staff receives the appropriate level of sales, product and general wine education and training
- Coordinate hospitality events, such as consumer tastings, VIP tastings, and wine club events
- Handle routine purchasing transactions, including operating cash registers, and accounting for daily sales. Ensure that cash accounting is correct and complete at the end of the business day
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum two years successful management experience in a wine/hospitality related business
- Passion for wine and customer service with strong wine knowledge
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Own transport
- Ability to work most weekends and public holidays
**Salary**: R15,000.00 - R18,000.00 per month
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Durbanville, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
**Experience**:
- Tasting Room Supervisor: 3 years (required)
