**Company Overview**
The company is a leading importer and reseller of yellow metal equipment, including front end loaders, forklifts, TLB’s, skid steer loaders, telehandlers. Also block machines, roof tile machines, and steel roof rolling machines. The business includes a fully equipped workshop, an engineering and maintenance division, parts department, woodwork workshop, and a finance department. The company operates in a dynamic environment, importing products from countries like China and provides after-sales services to clients and dealers.
**Position Overview**
The Parts Manager will oversee the spare parts department with a focus on the department as a whole. Responsibilities include managing stock, controlling costs, driving sales, and leading a team of sales consultants and representatives. This role requires close collaboration with the on-site workshop, aftersales team, procurement team and dealers to ensure the highest level of service and efficiency. Assessing current strategies and procedures and providing insight into new procedures and systems to the betterment of the department.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Stock Management and Procurement**:
- Oversee inventory levels for all spare parts.
- Implement and maintain efficient stock control systems to prevent shortages and overstock situations.
- Manage stock costings, including freight, clearing expenses, and other associated costs.
- Properly assessed and planned procurement forecasts
- **Team Management**:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a sales team and stock controllers.
- Set performance goals and targets for the team, providing regular feedback and support.
- Conduct performance reviews and ensure ongoing training and development.
- **Sales and Targets**:
- Drive spare parts sales by developing and implementing effective sales strategies.
- Monitor and achieve sales targets, analysing performance metrics and making adjustments as needed.
- Develop relationships with customers to promote repeat business and customer satisfaction.
- Visit existing customers and ensure continuous relationships with all our customers and dealers.
- Sales forecasts on new and existing stock
- **Collaboration and Communication**:
- Maintain close communication and interaction with the on-site workshop to ensure timely and accurate parts availability.
- Work closely with the aftersales team to address customer needs and resolve any issues related to spare parts.
- Liaise with dealers to manage parts supply and address any concerns or requirements.
- **Cost Management**:
- Develop and manage budgets for spare parts procurement and related expenses.
- Analyse and optimize cost efficiencies within the department, including freight and clearing costs.
- **Reporting and Analysis**:
- Prepare and present regular reports on stock levels, sales performance, and cost analysis.
- Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and improve departmental performance.
**Qualifications**:
- Proven experience in spare parts management, with a strong focus on yellow metal equipment and generators
- Demonstrated ability to manage inventory, control costs, and drive sales.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office.
- Experience in budgeting and financial analysis.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in spare parts management or a related field are advantageous.
