Purpose:
We are looking for a Marketing & Business Development Assistant to support our practice in Amsterdam. Local language is not essential as the majority of work will be in English, and so we are looking for an enthusiastic assistant with an interest in marketing and communications, to be based in either Amsterdam, Birmingham, UK or Johannesburg.
Key Performance Areas and Accountabilities:
- You will the support the daily activities of our Marketing & Business Development department.
- Your tasks will be broad and diverse, ranging from assisting in the organization and running of client events, to helping with pitches, communications and implementing our social media strategy. In addition to these areas, it includes but is not limited to, content tracking and newsletter creation, creating iPublish campaigns/invitations/surveys, credentials, preparing and drafting directory submissions and directory submission administration, projects, pulling and generating reports, research and client intelligence, social media, updating materials in Word, PowerPoint and InDesign, internal/external website updates, writing drafts for award submissions, and other services in support of the firm’s business development requirements.
Requirements profile:
**Education**:
- Grade 12 or equivalent - Essential
- Law, Communication, Creative Business or Marketing Qualification - Essential
Experience
- 1 - 2 years’ Experience in a professional services organization at Operational level
- 1 - 2 years’ Direct experience in marketing and business development at Operational level
System Skills
- Microsoft Office - Intermediate
- Sharepoint, CRM system, and e-marketing - Intermediate
Mental & Environmental Requirements
- After being briefed or trained, have the ability to work independently and without supervision
- Must be able to work concentrated for extensive periods of the day and complete repetitive tasks without any errors
- Must be able to communicate proficiently with global stakeholders, including colleagues based in international offices
- Must be able to work towards deadlines
- Must be able to maintain strict adherence to confidentiality policies
- Must have clear criminal and credit records

- Applicants must be South African citizens or have a valid South African work permit
Working Hours
- 9.00am to 17;30, or a shift pattern of 42.5 hours per week, as agreed on an individual basis, but falling between 07:00 and 23:00 SAST, Monday to Friday. It may be required to work overtime from time to time.
