**The job at glance**
- The Business Management Director is responsible for the smooth operation of the IT function.
- This includes establishing and managing the IT budget and project budget, optimising the budget, driving efficiencies in operating costs, managing strategic vendors and alliance partners, and overseeing the people agenda (attracting and retaining talent, establishing preferred service provider panels, managing capability-specific contractors, and defining talent growth models). all establishment, development and running of the ‘Plan’ function of the IT function.
- This involves the designing, managing and actively promoting the best talent and capabilities to enable planning processes and methodologies.
- Director must also ensure that the IT portfolio has been designed to meet with the business objectives by working closely with the Business Partner Director and that the portfolio is aligned with the strategic direction and agreed roadmap (defined by the Enterprise Architecture Director).
- This role will also direct and control all annual business planning activities for portfolio (such as the collection and evaluation of the investment requests).

**What will you do?**
- Lead, develop and manage the Business Management team and lead a culture of high performance, value-for-money, optimization and innovation in planning and control and manage performance of the team effectively
- Manage and coordinate the overall IT budget effectively and ensure that effective mechanisms are in place to manage, control and report on IT finances
- Facilitate the business to develop a culture for benefits management and realisation
- Manage the basics in the IT business unit (financials, oversight, analytic management of budgets, leavers to improve cost efficiency)
- Strategic vendor management. Review of existing vendors/service providers in the market and relevant to the IT team
- Efficiency and financial management of vendors
- IT strategic contract management (monitoring of contracts in terms of delivery on obligations set out, ensuring that the level of details are specific and allows for successful management of the contracts by the business management team).=
- Reporting - IT performance reporting. Creating dashboards that measure, monitor and report in the IT function as a whole
- Optimise the project delivery commercial models through use of internal and external partners
- Develop and execute a sound cost recovery/transfer pricing model
- Focus on IT value creation and delivery

- **Excellent strategic and tactical planning capabilities - **strong knowledge of general business processes, organisational performance and financial management
- Good contract awareness and measurement
- Report writing skills - ability to collate and interpret the data in a meaningful way

**Experience**
- 8+ years of experience in financial management - BCom or equivalent
- 8+ years of leadership experience
