Marketing and Business Development Assistant

This position supports the Marketing and Business Development team with business development and marketing requirements across practice and sector groups for the firm’s South African office. The role involves assisting on a variety of Marketing and Business Development activities in the team. The Marketing and Business Development Assistant will provide support on all aspects of the marketing mix, including credentials and experience management, campaigns and initiatives, drafting targeted marketing collateral and briefing notes, provision of client overviews and relationship documents to support client meetings, assisting with directories, award and league table submissions, supporting the delivery of practice/sector marketing plans, and assisting with internal and external communications and profile raising activities including social media. **Requirements**: - Essential Skills:_ - Excellent attention to detail, a practical approach and a spark of creativity - Basic understanding of business development and marketing practices and processes - Time management and prioritisation skills - Can-do attitude and enthusiasm, drive and initiative - Project Management - Good working knowledge of MS PowerPoint and Excel - Education and Experience:_ - Relevant Business Development and Marketing experience in a law firm or professional services firm is advantageous - Experience working independently as well as within cross-functional teams in a collaborative, professional environment - Relevant degree **Key Responsibilities**: - Business Development_ - Assisting with end-to-end pitch preparation - Assist with the management of current and accurate credentials and the related infrastructure - Drafting marketing collateral and briefing/client notes - Preparing client/sector/practice overviews to support client meetings - Assisting practice and sector groups to ensure marketing collateral (capability summaries, flyers, CVs etc.) are well maintained and up to date - Assist with distribution lists for client newsletters, mailings/webinars and briefings to ensure our clients receive targeted material - Assist with the legal directories, awards and the league table submission process - Supporting business development initiatives, working with the various internal (local and global) business development teams and fee-earners to execute - Assist with conferences / seminars / webinar and round table events - Marketing Communications_ - Supporting the development and execution of internal and external practice and sector communications - Support in maintaining relationships with external media contacts in the context of raising the profile the sector/practice externally **Benefits** Our working environment is dynamic, supportive and progressive.
