**PURPOSE OF THE JOB**

The Sales Assistant is responsible for welcoming and engaging clients, providing excellent customer service, handling client sales and orders, and maintaining a warm, friendly, and professional environment.

Administration includes working on the processing system (Sage Evolution), switchboard and filing.
Retail sales duties include daily processing of sales made in-store, marketing the products on social media platforms, store merchandising and pricing, cash-ups, stock counts and stock receiving.

The following are the key duties and responsibilities of this position:

- Welcoming and engaging clients in a warm and friendly manner.
- Assisting with all telephonic queries in a professional manner
- Providing excellent customer service, ensuring that the clients receive prompt and efficient service.
- Handle client sales and orders, including generating invoices and quotations.
- Building, maintaining and growing a strong client base through effective communication and customer relationship management.
- Handling point-of-sale, including balancing daily cash-ups.
- Assisting with housekeeping on the store floor when required.
- Ensuring items are priced.
- Handling client sales and transactions.
- Demonstrating products and sales knowledge.
- Labelling items, and pricing and displaying them correctly.
- Ensuring that the store is always well presented and organised.
- Marketing products on social media platforms and being responsive to queries.
- Conducting work (administrative and customer-related) according to company policy and procedure.
- Performing monthly stock-taking, ensuring that all items are accounted for.

**SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**:

- Matric, Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Good English communication skills - Written and spoken.
- Computer Literate
- High level of competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook along with relevant experience in Internet Explorer / Chrome.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proven working experience in sales and or office experience will be advantageous.
- Experience in Sage Evolution is advantageous
