Job purpose
Our Product Management Team is looking for a self-motivated individual. We are looking for an analytical and detail-oriented Research Analyst to assist in improving the operations and decision-making in our business and inform our future product developments. The research analyst's responsibilities include researching, collecting, analysing, and interpreting information and data, and using this to guide the business’ decision-making.
To be a successful in this role, you should have excellent mathematical, critical thinking, and communication skills. You should be flexible and able to work independently or in a team.

Key outcomes
The Market & Client Research Analyst will be responsible for the following:
Market Research
- Evaluate, interpret, and report on the external environment regarding:

- Competitor product and business strategy analysis
- Local investment industry (life insurance, banks, asset managers) trends
- Global investment industry trends
- Sources information around key trends and/or changes in the industries
- Develop, facilitate, and implement a process for information sharing within Glacier, the Sanlam Group, regulatory bodies, and competitors where appropriate
- Establish and maintain ongoing relationships with other industry players
- Support Sales with competitor and trend analysis
- Provide insights on strategic product and business development opportunities
- Share insights with Glacier Exco and management teams to inform business strategy

Client Research - to help define and refine the Glacier Client Value Proposition
- Gather insights on our existing client base through engagement with sales, client services, and intermediaries
- Identify needs of intermediaries and investors regarding our product offering and functionality
- Provide recommendations to improve current business operations and ensure customer service expectations are met
- Integrate business information, compare, analyse and produce reports to identify trends, discrepancies and inconsistencies for decision making purposes
- Use internal and market customer insight to identify big themes/life events which relate to our customers
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders to deliver on CVP objectives

Qualifications and experience
- Relevant tertiary qualification, preferably in a finance discipline
- 3-5 years’ experience in a related role, preferably within financial services
- Excel (Intermediate level)

Qualification and Experience Degree or Diploma with 3 to 5 years experience.
