Responsible for carrying out research studies. Gathers and analyses statistical data to assist management in forecasting sales and developing new products. What will make you successful in this role?
Job purpose
The Research and Investment Analyst will perform in-depth investment research, project tasks and provide a high standard of client service, sales support, and presentations to intermediaries and the Glacier Sales and Distribution team. The Research and Investment Analyst, in conjunction with the Senior analyst, will also have the opportunity to take responsibility of certain model portfolios after undergoing appropriate training.
Key outcomes
The following outcomes will be expected to be achieved by the Research and Investment Analyst. They will be responsible for / involved in:

- Analyse, interpret and disseminate market and investment information
- Thoroughly research, understand and explain both local and foreign collective investment schemes performance, positioning and mandates. Understand and explain passive investing performance and benchmarking (both from a CIS and ETF perspective)
- Positioning of alternative investments, including hedge funds and unlisted investments. A willingness to learn and increase knowledge in this space is highly recommended.
- Positioning smooth and monthly bonus products in conjunction with other life investment products such as fixed returns or guaranteed type products.
- Contributing to the team’s overall sustainable investing process and philosophy
- Portfolio and solution construction and aligning investments within the broader financial planning process
- Initiate research on current investment-related topics
- Provide support to intermediaries and the Glacier Business Development and Distribution team and other stakeholders regarding the structuring of portfolios and investments
- Present investment-related information to intermediaries
- Write articles on research/industry/investment topics in English
- Client service (Telephonic and face-to-face)
- Teamwork
- Assist with the maintenance of Glacier’s proprietary research and investment tools
- Ad hoc projects

Qualifications and experience
- Relevant financial post-graduate qualification (CFA3 an advantage)
- 2 - 3yrs relevant experience in a retail financial environment, particularly in asset manager research and/or financial planning.
- Knowledgeable on all linked investment platform (LISP) products.
- Advanced MS Excel capability
- Knowledge of economic principles and retail financial environment
- Strong presentation skills
- Valid driver’s license essential
- Be willing to travel nationally
