**Job title: HR Officer**

**Salary Range: R**28 000** **R35 000** **pm DOE**

**About the Company**

We are a fast-growing property management firm with an extensive and ever-increasing portfolio of properties across London. We are looking to expand our HR team and services with the addition of a HR Officer based in South Africa to help provide employment law advice and guidance to managers.

**Job Purpose**

To be the first port of call for all employees in the South African team. To encourage best practice through providing excellent advice and guidance on all employee relation areas, handling cases promptly, professionally and empathetically to reach satisfactory resolutions. To contribute ideas and assistance to ensure the HR team maintains a collaborative and productive environment. To review and improve processes and systems where required.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Be the first port of call for the BMS team by providing timely and reliable responses to all queries. Assist with queries from other Urang employees as necessary.
- Provide informal and formal employee relations advice and assistance for BMS, including leading meetings and coaching line managers when necessary.
- Provide expert HR advice and guidance including HR policies, employment law compliance and employee relation.
- Organising investigations, disciplinary and grievance hearings with assistance from the South Africa legal advisor
- Support line managers with all BMS staff probation and performance reviews, through coaching, guidance, scheduling and note taking.
- Preparation of relevant documentation of meetings and taking minutes.
- Actively keep up to date on basic South African employment law and best practice procedures, communicating any changes to the HR Team as required.
- Keep up to date with basic UK employment law and practices.
- Assist with any relevant administration that is required during TUPE processes, including taking notes during consultation, the collation of staff employment information, issuing announcements and letters, creating new contracts etc.
- Completing the onboarding process for all BMS staff, including creating a Bamboo profile and settings, issuing contracts, ensure the induction is completed and confirm right to work checks have been completed etc.
- Creating job descriptions and person specification when needed.
- Completing the offboarding process for all BMS staff, including processing staff as a leaver on Bamboo, calculate final payments, carry out exit interviews etc.
- Maintain staff records on Bamboo HR and One Drive to a high standard, ensuring they are complete and up to date.
- Ensure all absences and holiday are accurately recorded and monitored for BMS staff, including the completion of suitable sickness documentation as required. Assist with return-to-work conversations when necessary.
- Monitor and review absences for BMS staff.
- Support in the development of the BMS structure and processes.
- Support the with reviewing all policies and procedures, developing new documents as required.
- Support the HR team in other HR duties when required.

**Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience**:

- Excellent employment law knowledge in South Africa
- At least 3 years’ experience in a HR role
- Able to communicate effectively and clearly in writing and verbally, including drafting correspondence and documents
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience and ability to work with softwares
- Ability to work in a varied and demanding role with appropriate supervision
- Ability to work to strict deadlines and be organised and efficient
- Demonstrable experience and ability to use ICT packages i.e. Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience in managing the administration of the full employee life cycle

**Desirable but not essential**:

- Knowledge and understanding of the UK employment law
- Previous experience in recruitment
- Experience within the residential property sector
