The Marketing Assistant at The Royal Portfolio supports the Marketing & Communications Manager in handling Marketing and PR traffic in the company. Assisting with company announcements, press releases, media enquiries and requests, the Marketing Assistant ensures that The Royal Portfolio’s brand, culture and values are portrayed accurately, all of this to ensure that we live our purpose, which is _“To give our guests a complete experience and a perfect stay.”_

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

**- Liaise with outsourced PR agencies, organising hostings for journalists and influencers based on negotiated deliverables.
- Liaise with visiting journalists and influencers and overseeing their stay at our properties, by liaising with the Reservations and Revenue teams, as well as the hotel Front Office team
- Arranging site inspections during these visits the and appropriate team members to host guests
- Writing press releases, providing information and co-ordinating interviews for media.
- Monitor coverage achieved, ensure expectations have been met
- Establish Advertising Value Equivalency (AVE) and compile reports for management
- Creating and implementing a public relations strategy, monitoring progress and adjusting as need be
- Work closely with the Marketing team on the content calendar and schedule for social media.
- Contribute to newsletters, blogs, website copy, captions, social media posts as and when required.
- Maintain an up to date media database.
- Continually researching and sourcing suitable publications, bloggers, influencers to engage with based on our source markets and guest profiles.

REQUIREMENTS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPECTATIONS
- At least 3 years’ experience in a Public Relations role, preferably in a Hotel/ Hospitality/ Travel or Tourism environment
- A tertiary qualification in PR, Communications, Marketing or Media
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to multi task
- Good working knowledge of MS Office, Google docs essential
- Previous experience CRM experience would be beneficial
- Previous experience with a project management tool such as Asana
- A good understanding of luxury brands
- Positive attitude and highly responsive
- Team player

South African citizenship is advantageous. A valid work permit is essential if you are not in possession of a South African ID document.

All new appointments at The Royal Portfolio’s properties will need to show proof of vaccination against Covid 19.
