The purpose of the Travel Planner at The Royal Portfolio is to offer consulting travel services that enhance their stay. By offering additional, comparable, ancillary properties and excursions outside of our portfolio, and ensuring that they are all a good fit for the guest, the Travel Planner offers their expertise in line with TRP’s purpose, which is to _“give our guests a complete experience and a perfect stay”. _This position reports to the **Reservations Manager**

**Scope of Work**:

- To provide accurate and timeous information with regards to all queries about The Royal Portfolio Travel Service offering.
- Offer advice based on your expertise about TRP properties and tours, as well as additional properties and activities.
- To manage The Royal Portfolio current guest client base by building lasting relationships
- Ensuring cost vs sale of itinerary is correct based on contracted rates and promotions
- Liaise and communicate with internal stakeholders effectively
- Maintain a workable office environment, by ensuring that all information is retrievable by all office staff through various communication platforms and booking systems.

**As such the person filling this position needs to be/have**:

- A minimum qualification of Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent.
- Tertiary qualification in the field of hospitality or tourism is a distinct advantage.
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in a Luxury Travel Desk or Tour Operator essential
- Experience in selling Southern Africa as a destination, other destinations would be advantageous
- Have travelled to various Southern African destinations and experienced various 5* properties
- High competency in the following areas:

- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal in English (any additional languages an advantage)
- Outstanding telephone manner
- Good knowledge of the luxury Hospitality & Service Industry
- Excellent knowledge of travel destinations and product in Southern Africa
- Ability to sell experiences via written and verbal techniques
- Excellent computer skills - Word, Outlook and Globetrack (or similar TO system), Safari Portal/ Wetu
- Good organisational skills
- High attention to detail
- Complete tasks timeously and accurately
- Ability to work under pressure
- Service orientated
- Highly self-motivated and ability to take initiative
- Warm, friendly & respectful personality

South African citizenship is advantageous. A valid work permit is essential if you are not in possession of a South African ID document.
