Role Overview:
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver exceptional luxury travel itineraries for high-end international clients visiting Africa.
- Drive sales and achieve conversion targets.
- Build client trust by providing expert guidance and professional, knowledgeable & personalised advice.
- Make expert recommendations for itineraries, including accommodation, routings, and unique experiences, ensuring an outstanding African adventure, individually designed for each valued client.
- Craft compelling and descriptive, enticing & well written itineraries that vividly convey daily experiences.
- Revise itineraries as necessary until client satisfaction is achieved.
- Provide accurate quotes using confidential STO and rack rates, ensuring the required profit margins are met.
- Negotiate rates with luxury safari camps, lodges, and hotels.
- Close sales and meet target goals.
- Manage invoicing and request client payments in a timely manner.
- Collaborate closely with reservation consultants to ensure precise booking placements and invoicing.
- Ensure the accuracy of all booking details and verify arrangements with suppliers.
- Prepare and finalize all trip documentation, ensuring clients receive comprehensive and accurate documentation ahead of their trip.
- Offer continuous client support from initial enquiry through to trip completion.
- Serve as the primary contact for client concerns or support in advance of & during their trip.
- Ensure timely payment and receipt of client and supplier payments.
- Refine and enhance the sales funnel to improve conversion rates.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, including hotels, lodges, airlines, transport companies, and tour operators.
- Attend product updates where required, keep abreast of latest developments in the luxury safari
industry.
- Achieve consistently excellent client reviews and promote repeat and referral sales.
- Maintain exceptional verbal and written communication with clients, properties, partners, and colleagues.
- Conduct site inspections where possible and advised by management.
- Prepare sales reports as required.
- Uphold the Company Values throughout the sales process & in daily work.
**Requirements**:
- A minimum of three years of experience as a luxury safari sales consultant (direct clients - B2C) with a solid sales and product background in the luxury Africa travel industry.
- Expert knowledge of safari destinations and luxury properties across South, Southern, and East Africa.
- Ability to work from home, with flexibility in working hours to accommodate the travel industry’s demands.
Key Skills:
- Demonstrated success in sales within the luxury safari industry with a strong conversion history.
- Excellent writing skills for crafting itineraries that are professional, clear, and reflective of the company’s tone and philosophy.
- Outstanding verbal communication skills for client consultations and support.
- In-depth knowledge of Africa’s safari destinations, luxury safari camps, and hotels.
- Preferred experience visiting various safari destinations and lodges.
- Meticulous attention to detail, disciplined, organized, and exacting.
- Familiarity with itinerary software such as WETU or Safari Portal is preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, and Microsoft Word.
- Strong mathematical skills for accurate quoting.
- Ability to quickly learn new systems (e.g., XERO, CRMs).
- A commitment to exceptional customer service and delivering seamless & unforgettable experiences for each & every client.
Pay: R20 000,00 - R30 000,00 per month
