An exciting career opportunity exists at Medipost Pharmacy. The primary purpose for this position is to assist and lead a team of Maintenance workers to complete tasks given to them by the Maintenance Manager, or any day-to-day and preventative maintenance. This Team Leader should be able to work independently and provide constructive feedback on work given and be able to assess the Maintenance Workers quality of work. The Team Leader is responsible for ensuring that all General Workers arrive and attend work as per their contracts, and to inform the Maintenance Manager if the policy is not followed correctly. The Team Leader should ensure that the General Workers are productive in their Day-to-Day work. The maintenance team leader should ensure that Air-conditioning systems are maintained in accordance with the preventative maintenance schedule.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assist the Maintenance Manager with all tasks entrusted.
2. Coordinate maintenance staff and/or contractors to ensure Company property and Assets are kept in perfect working condition (Preventative Maintenance).
3. Inform the Maintenance Manager on all problems that need his attention and all material needed for the different tasks.
4. Report back to Maintenance Manager on all problems and work done by the contractors.
5. Manage maintenance team attendance according to Company Policies.
6. Delegate tasks to meet maintenance schedule and satisfy Company needs.
7. Carry out frequent inspections of the facility to identify and resolve maintenance issues.
8. Supervise and manage maintenance staff effectiveness and quality of work.
9. Plan and distribute tasks received from the Maintenance Manager, other Managers, and personnel as well as tasks obtained from physical inspection of all the different departments and outside areas.
10. Supervise, help, and inspect all work done by the maintenance team.
11. Escort and supervise contractors on site as and when instructed by the Maintenance Manager.
12. Oversee all installations and repairs done by own staff and/or external contractors.
13. Control and monitor inventory of maintenance equipment/tools.
14. Contact and call out emergency contractors when needed when Maintenance Manager is not available (on certain weekends and when he is on leave).
15. Respond promptly to emergency calls for maintenance (includes after hours call out).
16. On standby for emergencies and call outs on weekends as per the Standby schedule.
17. Adhere to and manage good housekeeping practices.
18. Check electrical (lights), plumbing, air-conditioning, and other systems to ensure functionality.
19. Ensure all contractors on site comply fully with the OHS Act requirements.
20. Monitor all maintenance team leave (handing in of leave forms to Maintenance Manager).
21. Complete overtime sheets and make sure it is handed in on time to the Maintenance Manager.
22. Report all disciplinary actions to the Maintenance Manager.

Specific Requirements/Other Important Information:

1. Generator: Start and run generators weekly to ensure optimum work performance when needed. Report any abnormalities to the Maintenance Manager.
2. HVAC: Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC and fridges, repair HVAC, cold rooms, freezers, and fridges, monitor temperature probes, and fault find on HVAC systems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM:

1. Matric
2. Formal refrigeration training

IDEAL:

1. Refrigeration trade test certificate

EXPERIENCE:

1. 5 years in refrigeration and HVAC Maintenance
