Position: Technical Sales Specialist (Entry-Level/Intermediate)

Industry Focus: Engineering/Technical – Marine & Land.

Compensation: Highly Competitive Salary Package + Benefits (Base Salary Based on Experience)

About the Role: Join a well-established service provider to Africa, located in Cape Town. This role involves sales and service of marine and land engineering products, including propellers and auxiliary engines, as well as land-based generators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with established clients in the marine and land sectors.
  • Develop and nurture relationships within the Marine Leisure & Commercial markets.
  • Drive new business development through networking and leads.

Qualifications:

  • Matriculation certificate with relevant qualifications in Marine or Engineering preferred.
  • Ideally, 3 to 5 years of sales experience in the marine or related engineering fields.
  • Alternatively, candidates with a strong passion for the marine industry and a desire to grow in this field are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong analytical skills and effective time management.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a customer-centric approach.
  • Willingness to work overtime and travel nationally, with occasional international travel.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Foster and maintain strong customer/supplier relationships.
  • Conduct customer visits to discuss opportunities, order possibilities, delivery conditions, and product quality.
  • Provide application engineering support.
  • Handle inquiries and quotations efficiently.
  • Maintain communication with colleagues regarding orders, delivery terms, and complaints.
  • Offer after-sales and technical support, including warranty assistance.
  • Manage and investigate customer complaints effectively.
  • Compile sales forecasts and order reports.
  • Assist management with various projects, advertising strategies, and sales marketing plans tailored to specific products and customer segments.
  • Participate in sales activities, including trade shows.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for representing additional products to enhance sales and diversify the product portfolio.
  • Support management in expanding the dealer network.
