External Sales Professional

West Coast Personnel is recruiting an experienced External Sales Professional to join their team in Retreat. The successful candidate will drive sales efforts in the timber industry, working with clients across the Western Cape region.
The estimated salary for this position is R280,000 - R320,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
Job Description:
This is an excellent opportunity to work with a well-established supplier of timber and building materials, serving clients across the Western Cape. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team and drive sales efforts in the region.
Responsibilities:
- Cultivate Client Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, providing personalized assistance throughout each stage of their projects.
- Pursue New Business Opportunities: Actively seek new business opportunities by networking within the community, promoting the client's reputation and presence, and performing regular cold calls to potential customers.
- Provide Expert Advice: Offer expert advice on materials, cost, and quantity estimations to clients, and assist in resolving issues by coordinating with site managers, project managers, and suppliers.
- Conduct Site Visits: Conduct site visits to take accurate measurements, prepare material schedules, and create rough sketches or diagrams for the workshop to ensure precise material preparation and delivery.
- Ensure Customer Satisfaction: Perform after-sales follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction and address any additional needs or support requirements.
- Drive Sales Initiatives: Drive and support marketing campaigns, promotional events, and new product launches to expand the client's market reach and enhance sales.
- Deliver Exceptional Service: Ensure that clients receive high-quality service and advice, enhancing their project outcomes and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Education: Matric certificate or equivalent certification.
- Experience: Proven track record in sales, ideally within the building materials or hardware sectors.
- Product Knowledge: Familiarity with building materials, supplies, and related products.
- Technical Skills: Competence in taking site measurements, preparing material schedules, and making basic sketches or diagrams.
- Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational abilities; attention to detail; numerical competence.
- Computer Literacy: Proficiency in basic software.
- Independence & Teamwork: Ability to work autonomously and effectively within a team.
- License: Valid drivers license.
