About the Role:

This Advocacy and Outreach Officer position is critical to the success of Vision 2040. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing stakeholder engagement strategies, building relationships with key stakeholders, and providing support and advice on advocacy and communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement stakeholder engagement strategies to support Vision 2040 implementation
  2. Identify and build relationships with key stakeholders, including community groups, government agencies, NGOs, and private sector organizations
  3. Collaborate with SANParks teams to ensure effective stakeholder engagement and coordination
  4. Provide support and advice on advocacy, communication, and stakeholder engagement
  5. Disseminate target communication materials to promote Vision 2040
  6. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in stakeholder engagement
  7. Coordinate and facilitate stakeholder engagement events, workshops, and meetings

Requirements:

  • Degree or national diploma in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Stakeholder Engagement, Economics, or Environment
  • 2 years experience in stakeholder engagement
  • Comprehension of Public Relations, Media Relations, and Stakeholder Engagement Principles
  • Exposure to the communication environment in the public sector and/or state-owned entity an advantage
