About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Country Manager to join our team at PayU. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the commercial function and driving sales growth in your assigned region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Commercial Success:
    • Develop and execute strategic plans to meet sales targets and drive revenue growth.
    • Monitor and negotiate commercial agreements with in-country banks, alternative payment methods, and acquirers.
    • Provide strategic and competitive pricing guidance within commercial frameworks.
    • Manage and optimize sales activities within the country using Salesforce and ensure data accuracy and completeness.
    • Develop and upsell merchant portfolios to drive revenue growth.
    • Lead the local commercial function to generate a robust sales pipeline and drive business growth.
    • Collaborate with global and regional sales units to onboard global and enterprise-level merchants.
    • Analyze and enhance sales efficiency and productivity.
    • Develop and refine customer satisfaction strategies to drive loyalty and retention.
    • Motivate and nurture the local sales team to optimize performance.
  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Foster cross-functional collaboration and break down silos within the organization.
    • Ensure alignment of local management with organizational goals and objectives.
    • Invest in the development and management of talent within the country.
    • Possess a deep understanding of local market complexities and share insights with the broader organization.
    • Represent PayU in local payment bodies and negotiate with payment organizations.
    • Promote and foster a One PayU culture within the organization.
  • Product and Engineering Management:
    • Provide strategic input into the product roadmap based on regional market requirements.
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Ensure alignment between the commercial function and other functions to maximize operational efficiency.
    • Maintain risk appetite and exposure as per company guidelines.
    • Work closely with the merchant risk team to drive efficient and timely onboarding.
    • Identify and address process gaps and inefficiencies and support corrective actions.
  • Finance Management:
    • Responsibility for full country financial results.
    • Work closely with the commercial finance team to ensure pricing of products are accurate and updated.
    • Track sales achievements weekly and quarterly.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of sales experience, ideally in a similar B2B environment.
  • 5+ years of experience leading cross-functional teams, ideally as a country or sales lead.
  • 5+ years of experience in payments, banking, or financial domain.
  • eCommerce payments/eCommerce payment processing experience.
  • MBA or Master's degree in management, finance, or similar field.
  • Experience in partnership lead and account management.
  • Experience in working within a global, cross-functional organization.
  • Experience in budget management, forecasting, pricing, account profitability review.
  • Ability to operate in a highly ambiguous and fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and work effectively with all internal and external teams, including sales, business development, marketing, and product management.
  • Ability to drive decisions, take action, and roll up your sleeves and dive into the work.
  • Superb articulation, communication, and overall leadership capabilities.
  • Effective and professional team communication.
