Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Country Manager to lead our commercial efforts in South Africa. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic plans to meet sales targets, monitoring and negotiating COPS rates for in-country banks, APMs and acquirers, and providing strategic and competitive pricing guidance within commercial frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute strategic plans to meet sales targets
• Monitor and negotiate COPS rates for in-country banks, APMs and acquirers
• Provide strategic and competitive pricing guidance within commercial frameworks
• Monitor and manage all sales activities within the country using Salesforce and ensure its accuracy and completeness
• Manage merchant portfolio, develop and upsell
• Lead the local commercial function to generate a robust sales pipeline
• Collaborate with global and regional sales units to onboard global and enterprise-level merchants
• Analyze and enhance sales efficiency and productivity
• Develop and refine customer satisfaction strategies
• Motivate and nurture the local sales team for optimal performance

Requirements:
• 7+ years of sales experience, ideally in similar B2B environment
• 5+ years of experience of leading cross-functional team, ideally as a country or side lead
• 5+ years of experience in payments, banking or financial domain
• eCommerce payments / ecommerce payment processing experience
• MBA or Master degree in management, finance or similar field
• Experience in partnership lead and account management
• Experience in working within global, cross-functional organization
• Experience in budget management, forecasting, pricing, account profitability review
• Ability to operate in a highly ambiguous and fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities
• Ability to build strong relationships and work effectively with all internal and external teams including sales, business development, marketing, and product management
• Ability to drive decisions, take action, and roll up your sleeves and dive into the work
• Superb articulation, communications, and overall leadership capabilities
• Effective and professional team communication
• Team player with the ability to contribute to the strong team culture of our diverse group
