Role: Lead Finance Strategist

Objective of the Role

This position demands a self-assured and engaging individual who will inspire, direct, and empower a team of Finance Managers in executing their financial duties and responsibilities. The ideal candidate should be adept at fostering robust relationships and comfortable in providing both support and constructive feedback to business leaders.

This role will report directly to the Head of Finance and maintain a functional reporting line with the UK Finance Director and the broader finance team.

The incumbent will oversee month-end closing processes, accounting (IFRS), internal controls, contract lifecycle assessments, pricing model evaluations, reconciliation analyses, and generating reports for senior management review. This position will entail substantial business partnership responsibilities, necessitating daily verbal and written communication with both the finance team and the wider business, including Sales and Operational Business Unit leaders.

The role will assist in finalizing Business Unit financial data before submission to the Senior Leadership team.

Professional Qualifications

Academic:

  • CA / CMA / ACCA / CIMA

Experience:

  • 5-6 years of experience in analysis, accounting, and management reporting roles

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspire, direct, and empower a team of Finance Managers in executing their financial roles and responsibilities
  • Engage in business partnering with Sales and Operational leaders, involving significant daily interactions to provide precise forecasting and understand the financial implications of business actions.
  • Generate accurate forecasts of costs and benefits.
  • Analyze reported performance against targets and ensure that key variance drivers are clearly articulated.
  • Ensure revenue invoices align with contracts and address any queries.
  • Review forecasts against Business Plans and previous targets, explaining key variance drivers during monthly meetings with the business.
  • Support onshore management with financial information and decision support as part of growth initiatives.
  • Facilitate 100% cost recovery through utilization, cost control, FTE mix, and management of the chargeable rate card.
  • Deliver accurate and timely monthly reporting, ensuring correct representation of the P&L, completing all necessary ledger entries, and reconciling Working Capital, WIP, DI, Accruals, and Prepayments, while maintaining cash flow reconciliations.
  • Provide scheduled and ad-hoc reporting to strict deadlines.
  • Offer pricing and business case support as needed.
  • Assist the onshore finance team in optimizing existing processes and designing new reports and procedures as required, proactively providing feedback and innovative ideas for improvement.
  • Lead discussions with onshore stakeholders and coordinate with internal/external auditors during annual and semi-annual closures.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection guidelines.
  • Train and mentor team members on various tasks and oversee their responsibilities.
  • Consolidate reports for delivery and country leads.
  • Manage any escalations from the Head of Finance.
  • Demonstrate resilience for Finance Managers.
  • Collaborate closely with the Head of Finance in building and reporting key cost parameters as expected by stakeholders.

  • Proficient in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, SUMIF, COUNTIF, text manipulation, data validation, etc.) and MS Office applications
  • Financial planning and analysis (FP&A)

Desirable:

  • Experience in project or professional service-based organizations
  • Familiarity with SAP
  • Knowledge and experience with other reporting tools
