Position Overview

Title: Lead Finance Strategist

Objective of the Role

An exceptional opportunity for a driven and career-focused qualified accountant to become part of a vibrant finance team operating across multiple regions.

This position calls for a self-assured and engaging individual, who will mentor, inspire, and oversee a team of Finance Managers in executing financial operations and responsibilities. The ideal candidate should be adept at cultivating strong relationships and comfortable in providing both support and constructive feedback to business leaders.

Reporting Structure

This role will report directly to the Head of Finance while maintaining a functional reporting line with the respective Finance Director and the broader finance team.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the month-end financial close process, ensuring compliance with accounting standards (IFRS), and managing internal controls. Conduct comprehensive reviews of contract lifecycles, pricing models, and reconciliation analyses, generating reports for senior management review. Engage in significant business partnering, necessitating daily verbal and written communication with both the finance team and various business units, including Sales and Operations. Assist in finalizing financial data for Business Units prior to submission to the Senior Leadership team.

Professional Qualifications

Educational Background:

CA / CMA / ACCA / CIMA certification

Experience:

5-6 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, and management reporting roles

Working Relationships

Internal:

Collaborate with internal stakeholders across various business lines and functions Engage with the senior management team and Group Finance Liaise with Client Partners

External:

Interact with end clients as necessary Coordinate with auditors and business finance directors Engage with group stakeholders

Core Duties

Mentor and guide a team of Finance Managers in fulfilling their financial responsibilities Collaborate with Sales and Operational leaders to provide accurate forecasts and insights into financial implications Generate precise forecasts of costs and benefits Analyze reported performance against targets, ensuring variances are clearly explained Ensure revenue invoices align with contractual agreements and address any discrepancies Review forecasts against business plans and previous targets, holding monthly discussions to clarify variances Support management information and financial decision-making processes Ensure effective cost recovery through utilization, cost control, and management of chargeable rates Deliver timely and accurate monthly financial reports, including P&L representation and reconciliation of working capital Provide pricing and business case support as needed Assist in streamlining existing processes and developing new reporting mechanisms Lead discussions with stakeholders and coordinate with auditors during financial closures Uphold confidentiality and adhere to data protection standards Train team members and oversee their responsibilities Consolidate reports for delivery to leadership Manage escalations from the Head of Finance Collaborate closely with the Head of Finance to report key cost metrics

Key Competencies

Essential:

Exceptional oral and written communication abilities Precision in data interpretation and analysis Timeliness and accuracy in accounting and reporting Proactive in identifying and implementing process improvements Proficient in MS Excel and other MS Office applications Expertise in financial planning and analysis (FP&A)

Desirable:

Experience in project or professional service-oriented organizations Familiarity with SAP and other reporting tools
