Talent Acquisition Specialist

The Talent Acquisition Specialist will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of recruitment and talent management practices to ensure a healthy, productive, and compliant work environment. This critical role involves developing, implementing, and managing strategies, policies, and procedures that align with the organization's goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Talent Acquisition & Recruitment
The Talent Acquisition Specialist will lead the recruitment and selection process to attract, hire, and retain top talent. They will collaborate with department managers to identify staffing needs and create effective job descriptions. The specialist will also manage onboarding programs to ensure a smooth integration of new hires.
Employee Relations
The Talent Acquisition Specialist will serve as the main point of contact for employee relations, addressing concerns and resolving conflicts. They will foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture that promotes employee engagement and satisfaction. The specialist will ensure a safe and productive work environment in compliance with labour laws and company policies.
Performance Management & Development
The Talent Acquisition Specialist will implement and manage performance evaluation processes, including setting performance goals, conducting appraisals, and developing improvement plans. They will create training and development programs to support employee growth and career progression. The specialist will work with managers to identify high-potential employees and succession planning initiatives.
Compensation & Benefits Administration
The Talent Acquisition Specialist will oversee compensation and benefits programs to ensure competitiveness and alignment with the organization's financial goals. They will manage payroll and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The specialist will analyze and recommend adjustments to compensation structures, bonus plans, and other rewards programs.
HR Policies & Compliance
The Talent Acquisition Specialist will develop and enforce HR policies and procedures that promote best practices and legal compliance. They will stay updated on labour laws, regulations, and industry trends, ensuring the organization's compliance with South African laws. The specialist will handle employee records, contracts, and HR documentation in accordance with data privacy laws.
Employee Engagement & Retention
The Talent Acquisition Specialist will develop initiatives that foster a positive work environment and promote employee satisfaction and retention. They will organize and lead employee engagement activities, wellness programs, and team-building events. The specialist will conduct regular surveys and feedback sessions to gauge employee morale and address areas for improvement.
HR Data & Reporting
The Talent Acquisition Specialist will maintain accurate HR records and ensure timely reporting on key HR metrics (e.g., headcount, turnover rates, employee engagement). They will provide regular updates and reports to the executive team on HR initiatives and workforce trends. The specialist will use HR data to make informed decisions and recommend improvements to HR strategies.
Health, Safety & Well-being
The Talent Acquisition Specialist will ensure that health and safety guidelines are implemented and followed across the organization. They will manage employee wellness programs and support initiatives that promote work-life balance.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have a Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Masters degree preferred). Professional certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, CIPD) is a plus. A minimum of 10 years of experience in an HR management or senior HR role is required. The candidate should possess strong knowledge of employment law, labour regulations, and HR best practices. Experience with HR systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
Skills & Competencies
The successful candidate should exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong leadership and team management abilities are necessary. Problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills are also required. High attention to detail and organizational skills are essential for this role.
Salary: R1,200,000 - R1,500,000 per annum
