About the Role

Mirna Butler Recruitment is seeking an experienced Business Unit Manager to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing the entire business unit for a leading medical aids company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily activities of the team and liaison with clients to ensure seamless communication and customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare budgets, schedules, and other organizational reports as needed, including presentations to client groups.
  • Manage team workloads to meet goals and deadlines, providing guidance and advice to team members as required.
  • Improve existing systems and policies to enhance business efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure customer requirements are met in a timely manner and according to set service levels.
  • Resolve complex claims and customer issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Manage client relationships and expectations, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Execute plans designed to meet company goals by creating and implementing policies and coaching employees.
  • Interact with managers and senior managers to align and optimize business processes.
  • Identify improvement areas and implement systems to boost company effectiveness.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of business policies, processes, and procedures, as well as legal compliance.
  • Ability to manage and lead large teams to meet deadlines and targets.
  • Ability to inspire and influence people positively, with strong administrative and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to deal with complexity and work under pressure.
  • Strong numeric and reporting skills, with professional telephone communication skills.
  • Coaching and mentoring skills, with a customer-centric approach and advanced relationship management skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving ability, with confidence and decisiveness.
Desired Skills
  • Administrative skills, with experience in coaching and mentoring.
  • Excellent English language skills, with advanced numeric and reporting skills.
  • Problem-solving skills, with experience in telephone etiquette.
Desired Work Experience
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong background in business operations.
Desired Qualification Level
  • Grade 12 / Matric, with a relevant qualification in business or a related field.
