**Duties and responsibilities**:

- In consultation with the Academic Head of Department (AHD) undertake the following:

- Manage the curriculum processes of the Extended Programme in departments.
- Develop new learning programmes in consultation with stakeholders.
- Ensure frequent and continuous development and management of the operational plan of the Extended Programme.
- Provide general leadership in the Extended Programme and ensure academic coherence across all various modules of the programme, including both BFN and SOUTH campus.
- Ensure that the activities of the Extended Programme are undertaken in accordance with the governance, policy, and regulatory frameworks of the university.
- Assume responsibility for the academic quality of the Extended Programme.
- Manage the academic administration of the Extended Programme.
- Ensure scholarship of high quality.
- Manage matters relating to teaching, learning, and students in the Extended Programmes, including both BFN and SOUTH campus.
- Conduct own research.
- Provide academic advice in terms of academic inquiries, amendments of yearbooks, schedules, timetables, etc. related to the Extended Programmes on both the BFN and SOUTH campuses.
- Serve on the marketing committee of the faculty as necessary.
- Assist with marketing pamphlets or any suitable marketing material.

**Inherent Job Requirements**:

- An Honours degree on NQF Level 8.
- Work experience as Academic Coordinator or Facilitator for Extended Programmes or lecturing any module/s in the Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences.
- A permanent staff member of the Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences at the University of the Free State (UFS).
