Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead and support a team of managers and crew members in the flagship store.
  2. Implement strategies to drive business performance and achieve targets.
  3. Ensure operational efficiency and adherence to company policies.
  4. Analyze performance metrics and create actionable plans for improvement.
  5. Recruit and manage staff.
  6. Manage stocktake planning and process.
  7. Manage disciplinary actions and ER cases.
  8. Ensure administrative, trade, and people checks align with business standards.
  9. Foster a positive and productive work environment.
  10. Ensure visual merchandise standards are adhered to in the store.
  11. Monitor staff appearance and backup areas.
  12. Monitor new lines available and merchandise according to dispatch guidelines.
  13. Monitor total range display and store/department housekeeping standards.
  14. Monitor customer service standards.
  15. Identify staff training needs and coach crew members.
  16. Communicate expected standards and processes to managers/crew members.
  17. Provide on-the-job knowledge, skills, and expertise to managers/crew members/supervisors.
  18. Approve store Kronos schedules and monitor store overtime costs.
  19. Ensure promotion and display standards are adhered to.
  20. Ensure general maintenance standards are adhered to and authorize necessary actions.

Requirements

  1. A Grade 12 (matric)/N3 equivalent/Clothing degree is required.
  2. 5-8 years' experience as an Area Manager - ideally within the Clothing retail sector.
  3. Knowledge of merchandising principles and fashion is essential.
  4. Strong leadership and team-building skills are necessary.
  5. Computer literacy, preferably with SAP knowledge, is advantageous.
