The Medical Protection Society is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operational Team Lead to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strong leadership to a team of technical experts, ensuring the delivery of excellent claims and case handling services for our members.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the team to support the delivery of the Member Protection and Support strategy and priorities, ensuring alignment with our business objectives.
- Manage informal complaints and establish escalation routes for technical matters, ensuring fair outcomes for our members and compliance with our policies and standards.
- Lead the team to continuously improve ways of working and contribute to improvement projects aimed at driving operational efficiency and member experiences.
- Ensure training, competence, performance, and engagement of the team, identifying training requirements and developing strategies to address any gaps.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally to maximize operational effectiveness and drive business growth.
- Own the setting of team budgets and ensure the effective and efficient performance of the team, minimizing case costs through proactive management and challenge of costs and invoices from third-party spend.
Requirements
- Leadership and people management experience in multidisciplinary teams, with a strong track record of delivering results and driving business growth.
- Strong operational management experience, with a deep understanding of the insurance and regulatory environment.
- Strong customer service and member management background, with a focus on delivering excellent member experiences.
Desirable
- Experience of leading an offshore operation for a European domiciled organization.
