Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales and Business Development:
    • Identify and engage with new customers in the paint and hardware industries, promoting and selling a range of products to retailers, contractors, and DIY customers.
    • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets through proactive market research and effective time management.
  • Customer Relationship Management:
    • Foster strong relationships with existing clients, providing expert product knowledge and advice to ensure they receive the right solutions for their needs.
    • Respond promptly to customer inquiries, provide quotes, and follow up on sales leads to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Product Knowledge & Training:
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and developments, attending training sessions as necessary to enhance product knowledge.
    • Provide product demonstrations and training to customers where required, ensuring they have the confidence to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Reporting & Administration:
    • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and opportunities in our CRM system.
    • Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for senior management, highlighting market trends and competitor activity.
  • Inventory & Logistics Coordination:
    • Work closely with the warehouse and supply chain teams to ensure timely delivery of products to customers.
    • Monitor inventory levels and place orders as necessary to maintain stock levels and meet customer demand.

Requirements:

  • Experience:
    • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in sales within the paint or hardware industry, with a proven track record of success.
    • Detailed knowledge of paint products, hardware tools, and accessories, including current market trends and competitor offerings.
  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent, with a degree in Sales, Marketing, or a related field being advantageous.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Exceptional sales and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex product information in a clear and concise manner.
    • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
    • Knowledge of CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Compensation Package:
    • R15 000 basic salary per month, plus company car, and performance-based commission.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Valid driver's license and own reliable vehicle.
    • Willingness to travel within assigned territory to engage with customers and drive business growth.
